About Us

Avuxeni Computer Academy was established in 1999 and aims to provide quality, affordable and accessible ICT and computer training to South Africans of all ages. We have empowered countless individuals with computer skills during the past 20 years, thereby improving their chances to secure formal employment.

Avuxeni Computer Academy is situated throughout South Africa and we also provide extensive training in remote, developing areas by establishing temporary or “My Mobile” training centres at schools, churches and community centres. Rural residents are afforded the opportunity to acquire skills which give them a competitive edge in an environment fraught with challenges in the form of poverty, skills shortages and unemployment.

The first branch was opened at Giyani. From its humble beginnings the company quickly grew to the largest privately-owned training institution in the country with more than 56 branches spread throughout Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Eastern Cape and Free State.

In 2012 there was a change of ownership and the company received a comprehensive overhaul.  New internal departments were introduced and systems, policies and procedures were implemented.

The focus was shifted from running an educational business to becoming a servant to the student.  The vision was born to change the lives of people.

That is our why, or reason and daily action plan:  to change as many lives as possible each day in whatever we do.

All of our course material, QMS and our policies, procedures and processes has been reviewed, adjustments were made and new ideas, courses and changes were proposed and are about to be implemented to ensure that Avuxeni continues to be the nationwide leader in Basic Computer Training for all people in towns, settlements, villages and communities across South Africa.

Several fly-by-night training academies offer people sub-standard training and rob hardworking students of genuine accredited education and qualifications.  We don’t.  We strive to continuously exceed expectations by offering better value for all our students; giving our students accredited education, access to own electronic equipment (hardware), empowering skill development opportunities that can lead to employment.

WE HAVE TO SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE THE LIVES OF OUR VALUED STUDENTS

AVUXENI IS THE ONLY COMPUTER ACADEMY TO PRIDE ITSELF TO BRING QUALITY EDUCATION TO EVEN THE MOST DESOLATE AND RURAL VILLAGES IN SOUTH AFRICA.

Quality education should be the right of the affluent few that live in cities and urban areas that can attend a college and or university.  Our operational model conclude that we have satellite (remote) branches in most of the rural towns and townships in South Africa that support a network of mobile computer stations in villages and communities and our Computer Academy Model runs on a one-day classroom theory and four days practical vocational training in the field.

All people, regardless of their age, are entitled by the Constitution to basic education. The ability to read, write and calculate is at the heart of such education, because such skills enable people to function in a modern society.

“A powerful rationale for rural education are now required. Such a rationale can be provided: it is one that sees education as being able to play a role in rural development alongside and integrated with other social policies aimed at addressing inequality and poverty…”
(Nelson Mandela Foundation, 2005:139).
